Most ski resorts have an adaptive winter sports program. These programs are great avenues for teaching and assisting people with special needs to ski and snowboard. Not only are these programs great for the kids and adults learning to ski and ride but GoRover wants you to know there are great opportunities to volunteer your time. I volunteered for 4 seasons with Winter Park's NSCD (National Sports Center for the Disabled) and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding endeavors I’ve been involved with. If you have special needs and would like to try skiing or snowboarding I highly recommend looking at one of these programs. If you are already a good skier or snowboarder I also highly recommend volunteering your time to one of these programs. Believe me it’s very fun and rewarding!
